Grass-Fed Beef Prices
Our beef is sold in wholes, halves, or quarters. A half a beef includes everything from soup bones and stew meat to a nice selection of steaks, ground beef, roasts, and short ribs. Our beef sells for $1.95 per pound hanging weight (the weight of the carcass after the animal has been butchered and before it is broken down into cuts). In 2007, our beef hung out at 535 to 550 pounds for the whole animal.
When making a custom order for a whole or a half, you pay $1.85 per pound hanging weight to us as the farmer, and then a separate amount to the butcher shop for cutting and wrapping your meat. Cut and wrap costs vary.
